This article may interest you, if you are unable to install updates from Windows Update, due to inconsistencies in file data or registry data.

If you receive the Windows Update error 800B0100, it means that a file needed by Windows Update is not registered with Windows correctly.

To resolve this issue, do the following;
– Download the System Update Readiness Tool appropriate for the version of Windows you are running and system type (x86 or x64) of your computer.
– Run Windows Update again.

Note: The System Update Readiness Tool scans for inconsistencies in your computer, while it is being installed.
