Download: Updated Office 2010 Resource Kit now Available!

Microsoft has released an updated version of the Office 2010 Resource Kit and it’s available for download at the Microsoft download Centre.

The Office 2010 Resource Kit is set up to simplify the planning of an Office 2010 deployment including how to plan for virtualization and Remote Desktop Services.

According to Microsoft Evangelist Keith Combs;

Are you an expert on all facets of deploying Office 2010? If so, you’re a rare bird. If you are like the rest of us, you are probably looking for help. The Office Resource Kit (ORK) is an invaluable resource for planning and deploying this product.

Office 2010 Resource Kit consist of four major sections:

– An overview of the Setup architecture for Office 2010, setup sequence of events, language-neutral design and deployment of multiple languages, customization methods, required local installation source, and updates process.

– Information about how to plan the installation of the Microsoft Office 2010 suites, and how to migrate the user data, such as user and computers settings and documents created from the previously installed versions of Microsoft Office.

– Guidelines about items to consider before you deploy Office 2010.

– Overview of Microsoft Volume Licensing and Office Activation Technologies for Office 2010 and describes how to plan for volume activation.

    Thank you for the wonderful article. However, your download link sends me to the Office 2010 Planning Guide, not the resource kit! Please help. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
